Wine and Stories

Amorette and Cape Kiwanda

Even though our few days on the coast were shrouded in fog, the light was amazing, perfect photographic light. I loved it. We both did. Amorette took five hundred photos, half of which I know are of me.

The Fold of her Arms

The Smile I missed
It's been many years since I've seen a good friend of mine from high school. Since Facebook and Myspace is good for some things, like keeping in touch, we have been able to stay in each other's lives, virtually. I approached the idea of her visiting me, here in Seattle several months ago and to my surprise and delight, she had her ticket bought that same night. It was fun seeing her, in real time. We talked for hours and told each other many stories and drank a lot of wine. We also took many photos of each other, our favorite past time.

This copy seems to be missing some pixels (click on the picture to see large format), but I can't find the original in order to restore the original data. I do like the comp a lot and the grain adds something to it. Probably not very printable, but still one of my favorite shots.

Urban Canvas

In a dreary city like Seattle, all color stands out, no matter how mundane.

For Whom the Bell Flower Rings
I'm actually not sure what this flower is called, but to me it hangs like a bell, so hence, the title.

Distorted Scene - Color Temperature
Cal Anderson Park

I took a series of these photos for an online art contest with the theme of color temperature. Overall, I'm digging on the color, but I'm not sure about the overall blurry effect. The scene below is truer to the actual colors. This one I bumped up the color saturation and changed the blue hue to a darker tone to give the scene more of an urban feel to it. In terms of color I prefer this piece, but still not so sure about the distortion. Oh, I also added a slight diffuse glow to add to the dream like feel.
